Studies of Eden

Hey all, after a long hibernation I'm back with some exciting stuff coming up.  On April 12th 6-9pm come join me at the artist reception of my newest collection of drawings Studies of Eden. The work will be showcased and available for purchase at The Veiled Crow from April 12th to May 31st.  There will be light snacks and refreshments as well as cool art and awesome bath and body products from The Veiled Crow.  I hope to see you there, stay tuned for sneak peeks and other info about the show.

PROVIDENCE ARTIST BROOKE ERIN GOLDSTEIN CONJURES UP GALLERY FOR “THE ENCHANTMENT SHOW”

Providence-based artist Brooke Erin Goldstein has created a one-night-only pop-up gallery at the HN Welling House to show her newest print series in The Enchantment Show.  This show features her signature style of bright color, repeating pattern and unique symbols to create four different enchanted worlds of water, earth, fire and air.

Brooke Erin Goldstein is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Textile Design.  She was born in New City, NY, and began taking art and sewing classes at the age of three.  As a dedicated entrepreneur, she currently owns and operates three businesses, including Brooke Erin Goldstein Art and Design. 

Goldstein has always been fascinated by color.  For years now, through her drawings, she has been exploring the power that color has on our emotional experience.  Working with silkscreen, digital printing, quilting and graphite/ink drawing has allowed her to experiment with this concept.  In conjunction, she has developed her own visual language, using symbols she’s created and defined.  This allows her to examine not only color’s impact, but also the effect of narrative and repeating pattern by the arrangement of the motifs. 

Brooke Erin Goldstein’s goal as a visual artist is to convey a relatable, emotive involvement with the viewer.  This connects us all in the human experience of love, passion—and, of course, pain.  The Enchantment Show does just that: it immerses the viewer in Goldstein’s world of emotion.

The Enchantment Show will take place in the lobby gallery of the HN Welling House at 137 Doyle Avenue in Providence, Rhode Island on June 1^st, 2012.  The reception will be held June 1^st from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.  Further details can be found on the artist’s website, brookeeringoldstein.com.

Biological Coo Coo Clock Prototype 

This is a test print of my Biological CooCoo Clock for The Enchantment Show and open studio coming up on June 1st.  Its Just one of the few surprises for the opening.  The Enchantment Show will have lots of great prints that can also be viewed on my website www.brookeeringoldstein.com as well as some surprise pieces like this one that will just be available at the show.  Also lots of snacks and drinks.  Stay tuned for more info on the upcoming enchantment show!!!

CVS Cactus Chromatism

I was recently at CVS and noticed these beautiful flowering cacti at the counter.  I was surprised to notice the ester color pallet of the plants.  I would have never associated spring and ester with desert and cactus but there it was.  I'm very glad my need for allergy medication brought me there to see this.
